Local Events

On this part of the Website, we will feature some of the local events organised by the sections to promote ISHA locally, catch up with some of their members, prepare for international events or visit other sections during excursions. This page will be updated regularly and is always welcoming new content, so feel free to mail isha.inter@gmail.com with any updates on upcoming or past activities!

ISHA Zadar watched the movie Amistad, followed by a presentation done by Mario Marasovic on the film’s historical inaccuracies.


ISHA Osijek organized its third methodology workshop. This time the presentation was held by dr.sc. Domagoj Tomas. They also visited the secondary school Gimnazija Vinkovci to explain the workings of ISHA a bit more to the students and watched the movie Hidden Figures.

ISHA Split presented the first issue of newspaper Pleter and the book of abstracts from their regional seminar in September via different platforms. They gave a presentation, participated in the radio show “Nedjeljni akvarel” and published it online! They also had a visit from Ms Clara Ramírez-Barat, a member of NGO Auschwitz Institute for Peace and Reconciliation and Ms Olesya Skrypnyk, a member of NGO Novo Doba from Lviv in Ukraine. After a discussion with these two representatives the section visited a local high school to talk with the pupils about several historical topics.

ISHA Maribor visited a few ruined castles and a mansion in the Slovenian part of Carinthia and dressed up as proper historians for Carnival!

ISHA Lugano had a successful screening of Denial,” followed by a lively discussion of the implications of denying history. Additionally, they promoted the ISHA spirit at Franklin University Switzerland’s Campus Involvement Fair followed by a workshop on Applications!

ISHA Turku has a elected a new board! Congrats and good luck!


ISHA Pula has published a new volume of their student newspaper Epulon and is organizing the second biennial conference in the series Past, Present, Future in cooperation with their department for which they are still accepting applications until 15.03.2017!


ISHA Olomouc z.s. has a brand new logo and fresh t-shirts.


ISHA Eger has received a visit from the acting president of ISHA Lilla Zámbó to meet with the local section as well as representatives from the Eszterházy Károly University. They are very busy preparing for the Annual Conference. More infomation can be found on their website!

Upcoming events:

For the ISHA members in Croatia:  ISHA Osijek is organising an interdisciplinary symposium entitled “The right to live, the right to die” in collaboration with other student organizations on Filozofski fakultet Osijek. The symposium will take place on the 15th and 16th of March in the faculty’s Assembly room and will be open to all visitors. More information can be found here!
